Children grow faster than their clothes wear out. That makes second-hand a logical choice for families: baby clothes are often worn for just a few months, toys last generations, and a solid pram or high chair costs a fraction of new when bought used.

For safety items like car seats and baby monitors, ask about the year and condition — a seat that's been in an accident is best avoided. Beyond that: study the photos, ask about stains or missing parts, and pick up bulky toys locally. Anything outgrown sells on just as easily afterwards.
